At
some point in my search for truth, I opened a door to a place I could not control. |
Neo
follows Choix and DuJour to a nightclub, Trinity:
| Neo:
How do you know that name? |
Trinity:
I know a lot about you. |
| Neo:
Who are you? |
Trinity:
My name is Trinity. |
| Neo:
Trinity. The Trinity? That cracked the IRS d-base? |
Trinity:
That was a long time ago. |
| Neo:
Jesus. |
Trinity:
What? |
| Neo:
I just thought, um...you were a guy. |
Trinity:
Most guys do. |
| Neo: It was you on my computer. How did you do that? |
Trinity:
Right now all I can tell you is that you're in danger. I brought you here to warn you. |
| Neo: Of what? |
Trinity:
They're watching you, Neo. |
| Neo: Who is? |
Trinity:
| Neo: What is the Matrix? |
Trinity:
The answer is out there, Neo. It's looking for you. And it will find you, if you want it to. |
The
next day, Morpheus and Trinity |
| Neo: This is crazy. No way. No way. |
The
street is forty stories below. Morpheus: |
| Even when I made wrong turns, the answer pursued me. | ||
| I
had to let go of my own ideas about the universe and open myself to someone else's story. I agree to meet on their terms. |
| Switch
turns in the front seat and aims a gun at Neo, who has just gotten in the back seat. Neo reacts. What the hell is this? |
Trinity:
It's necessary, Neo; for our protection. |
| Neo:
From what? |
Trinity:
From you. Take off your shirt. |
| Neo:
What? |
Switch:
Listen
to me, Copper-top. Our way or the highway. |
Neo:
He opens the car door to leave. |
Trinity: |
| Neo:
Why? |
Trinity:
Because you have been down there you know that road. You know exactly where it ends. And I know that's not where you want to be. |
These strangers who offered their take on life had something I wanted, even if I couldn't buy into all of their packaged deal. Neo
closes the car door. |
Trinity: Using
a rather stange looking piece of equipment, |
In order to hear more, I had to admit I was less than perfect. I had to expose what was wrong with me, not just my world. |
Neo
reacts to the extracted bug: |
Just
before meeting Morpheus, |
| For real. | ||
Morpheus:
Neo: What is it? |
Morpheus:
| Neo: What truth? |
Morpheus:
That you are a slave, Neo. Like everyone else you were born into bondage... |
I
can only show you the door. |
Another choice! I could turn back, and believe whatever I wanted to believe. Or I could surrender to the truth: that I was bound... that I could be set free... |
Morpheus:
| That's
not what I want to hear. But I am desparate. I don't want the story to end. |
You take
the red pill, and find out just |
Remember, all I'm offering is the truth, nothing more....
