see myself in this story. Others may see Jesus or someone else. That's what makes it a great story. Applicability. Not allegory. There is a danger in sharing the elements of this story that apply to my life and faith; that you may percieve that I am trying to determine the author's intent. Such is not the case. Other than to say that their intent was to write a good story that would also make me think. Many have asked the Wachowski brothers, "What did you mean? Who is Neo?" and they have intentionally stayed vague. It's up to the viewer to decide what applies. Applicability. Not allegory. Tolkein would like that. What the actors have said |
